As communications associate, Synthia works to highlight impactful initiatives that are underway in members’ systems and advocate for the network’s policy priorities.

Prior to joining Chiefs for Change, Synthia was a regional coordinator for an early literacy initiative through the Mayor’s Office of Children and Families in Philadelphia. There, she worked to improve academic outcomes for students and increase civic engagement across the city. Synthia’s previous experience also includes teaching, program management, and leading youth programs in the nonprofit sector and developing community and school partnerships. In addition, Synthia has produced a variety of media projects and public health events for underserved and under-resourced communities.

Synthia earned her master’s in globalization and development communications and her bachelor’s in film and media from Temple University.
